So you’re all set for your Orlando vacation and you’re really excited to see all the wonderful things that Orlando has to offer but you’re worried about your budget. Is it possible to get to see the major attractions and visit the major theme parks in Orlando without breaking the budget and running out of money by the third day of your vacation? It is possible if you take some extra steps to cut costs. Savvy travelers can save a lot of money with just small steps if you are conscious of trying to cut costs where you can. Here are some ways that you can see all the attractions that you want to see but not go over your budget. One of the easiest ways to save money is being picky about where you eat.
Food in the major theme parks is often unhealthy and always expensive. Parents can blow their whole day’s budget just trying to get lunch for themselves and their kids and after you pay the admission fee for the park which is usually very steep there might not be a lot left over for food. So instead of eating a big lunch at the park you should eat a huge breakfast before you hit the attraction that you are seeing that day. If your hotel offers a free breakfast make sure that you and the kids all eat as much as you can at breakfast. If you’re full from breakfast then you and the kids will only want a light snack for lunch which will be less expensive than trying to buy a big meal for everyone at the theme park or attraction.
Another thing that you can do is stop at a market or a gas station along the way to the park and buy your own food and snacks. You’re probably carrying a bag already that has sun block, extra clothes, band aids and first aid cream and all the other things that you need to have with you when you travel with kids so pack a few healthy snacks from the market into you bag. Apples or oranges, granola bars, and bottled water are cheaper than healthier than buying nachos, chocolate, ice cream and soda for snacks at the park. Always keeping some snacks and bottled water with you can save you a lot of money through the course of a day. You can also buy pre-made deli sandwiches and chips at a market and carry those with you or even buy a small loaf of bread, some peanut butter and jelly and plastic utensils so that you can make your own sandwiches.
If you can keep a cooler with ice in your car or your hotel room and you can save leftover food and drinks to have later. Having healthy food for the kids that isn’t packed with sugar and fat will also make it easier for the kids to not get tired and cranky as the day goes on. Not buying your food and drinks at the expensive theme parks that you want to visit is a great way to reduce your expenses when you’re on vacation in Orlando. You might even save enough to go to a theme park or attraction that wasn’t on your list by the end of the trip.
