Now for Disneyland Parades: Parades have been employed by Disneyland to rejuvenate the human spirit and kindle the fires of imagination. California screaming- It is one of Disney’s most famous roller coasters ever, which goes up to 120 feet and drops down 108 feet and in its two and half minute trip you will be falling at the speed of zero to fifty five miles per hour in four seconds.

Big Thunder Mountain Rail Road-it is modelled after a mine train going through caves, mines, and such dark places. It is the fastest and longest Rollercoaster.

Space Mountain– This ride mimics a journey in space going up to 3440 feet and lasting for a little over two and a half minutes. A spectacular ride, it is also has a great theming as the waiting area also looks like space port. This ride is in Tommrowland.

Matterhorn Bobsleds–it is tubular track rollercoaster in steel and very popular DISNEY ROLLERCOASTER whose maximum speed is 18 miles per hour and covering a little over two minutes. It has a replica of the Matterhorn Mountain in Switzerland and has two tracks and not too many drops. But it is a twisting ride which you will enjoy.

Mulholland madness– named after the famous road, and mimicking its curves, this DISNEY ROLLERCOASTER comes with vehicles that look like Los Angeles street traffic. It does a lot of twists, but the really scary points are those when it seems the cars are going to fall off their tracks.

Splash Mountain–if you are looking for a great Disney experience with lot of actual Disney characters, this is the ride for you. It may not really seem to be a rollercoaster and in this ride you will be seated in a log and the ride will take you through a series of brer rabbit and friends scenes, there is a really steep and scary drop at the end where a hidden camera takes your picture, as you scream, and you can buy this picture at the end.

Well, as you know, Disney roller coasters are not the only roller coasters, nor the scariest, but what makes them special, is the Disney theme that lends a special charm to all these rides. The good part is that most people over seven years, can enjoy these rides.

Disneyland becomes even more attractive at Christmas. Christmas decorations are ubiquitous but the piece de resistance in it is the splendid Toontown and New Orleans Square. In Town Square which lies at the far end of Main Street stands proudly a 60-foot Christmas tree bedecked with millions of shiny luminous lights and ornaments. It is no big surprise that the Town Square, the cynosure of Disneyland, has been given the privilege of hosting this symbol of Christmas – The Huge Tree. Also specially decorated for Christmas and with a special Christmas music track is the Small World. It is small only in name, not in entertainment! Moreover, the Christmas Fantasy Parade runs from Small World along Main Street to Town Square. Such is the Christmas Break in Disneyland. No Christmas can be complete without snowfall. And no Christmas Break in Disneyland can be complete without tons of white snow drifting and snow flakes pervading the air.

To ensure this, the authorities have designed special techniques to further the Christmas-Atmosphere. What a wonder – It starts snowing at select zones in the park with the culmination of fireworks. One can consult a map to locate these spots.

What about Santa during Christmas at Disneyland? Well, The Big Thunder Ranch at Frontierland becomes a Novel Haven for letting Santa let his hair loose and frolic with the people whom he inspires. As with the California Disneyland the Tokyo Disneyland is divided into seven entertainment zone, each of which is unique, but in keeping with overall style of Disney. Just like Disneyland California the Tokyo Disneyland includes Critter Country, Mickey’s Toon Town, Fantasyland and Tommorowland. The Main Street U.S.A. of Disneyland California has been replaced with the entertainment zone called the World Bazaar. This area has been entirely constructed under a glass canopy, lending a spectacular touch to this area.

Tokyo Disneyland does not have Frontierland, but includes an entertainment zone called Westernland keeping in mind that the chunk of visitors to this park would be non Americans, and would best relate to the themes and concepts which are the usual mark of Disney in this way.

The rest of the areas have an inevitable likeness to Disneyland California. Since the Tokyo Disneyland does not have the railroad like the Disneyland California this has been compensated for by a railroad called the western river rail road, which does make for a great pleasure ride, though it does not cover the entire park, and therefore may not be used to commute within the park.

The Tokyo Disneyland has sprawling spaces and is frequented by a large number of people every year. This makes it the third in the list of the most frequented places of all Disneyland parks, the world over.

The Tokyo Disney land has most of the attractions which are there in Disneyland California. What is especially amazing is that Tokyo Disneyland has all the special features characteristic of the usual Disney attractions, but at the same time has kept the American feel of the park, in balance with the Japanese customs.

Well the two theme parks at Disneyland have different rides on offer. The two theme parks are: DISNEYLAND, and DISNEY’S CALIFORNIA ADVENTURE.

DISNEYLAND offers you the following rides and attractions. It has the snow white show which is a Broadway adaptation of the story – snow white and the seven dwarfs. It is a great show for all those who love this classic story.

Next is the Fantasmic, which is a multimedia show, presented at night, by none other than Mickey Mouse. It has synchronized, light laser show, combined with the effects of various media, such as fireworks, boats, and all that jazz.

Another attraction here is the Indiana Jones which is a scary but very thrilling ride. It will sure thrill the boys.

But if you are looking for magic, then what you should look for is the peter pan, a ride that is fun magical way to relive the Never land experience.

Another ride is the big thunder mountain railroad. This is more adventurous than scary, and should be enjoyable to very young kids also. If all this does not feed your senses to the optimum, the Disneyland has another ride for you called the, the buzz lightyear, which allows you to have the experience of being inside the game. You can compete with others, and have your own score at the end of the ride.

DISNEY’S CALIFORNIA ADVENTURE

Playhouse Disney is for the tiny tots, who can enjoy there, is one of the main attractions, with two roller coasters. One is the Soaring over California, which is the ride drawing in the most visitors at the ark, and the other is the California Screaming, which is the scariest roller coaster at Disney’s California adventure. So watch out for this one. It is only for those with the taste for heights.

Disney’s California adventure also has the tower of terror, that is bond to raise the goose bumps on you, a must see for those with a taste for horror, or else you could go for some great comedy, with the DUH Show, which is an improvised show, open to audience participation.

There you can also watch Aladdin which is another broadway style adaptation of the popular fable which is also a Disney movie. So now that you know what to look for go ahead and enjoy your Disney trip.

Catering to some fifteen million of souls each year, Euro Disneyland is one of Europe’s most famous and lucrative tourist destinations. Fully functional since April 12, 1992, it was the second Disneyland to be inaugurated outside the shorelines of the United States of America. Moreover, it is the first Disneyland to be wholly owned and operated by Disney – another historic feat. This historic Euro Disneyland Resort in Paris is constituted of two theme parks, a variegated entertainment district and about seven hotels that are owned by Disney.

As for the actual shareholdings, the vast resort is owned by the French company Euro Disney S.C.A., a public company that has about 39.78% possession of The Walt Disney Company, whereas, the Saudi Prince Alwaleed has 10% of it and the rest 50.22% is owned by other respective shareholders. Karl Holz is the current chairman and CEO of the Euro Disneyland Resort.

However happy this place may be, it has had its share of controversies. When the plan was conceived and the execution was in its nascent stages, the company had to battle stubborn resistance and obstinate bickering from trade unions and other labor groups, not to mention environmentalists and the anti-globalization lobby. When the Resort opened, it was plagued by low attendances and a pitfall in customer traffic which made expected targets seem titanic. To counter it and launch a new image of the place, to make it more profitable and lucrative, the Euro Disneyland was renamed Disneyland Paris thereby connecting it with its Californian predecessor in 1995. It was then that the company started raking in tons of money and raised its head as one of the leading tourist attractions of Europe – for kids and adults alike – for after all, it also has the happiest management on Earth!

Let us indulge ourselves by polishing our nostalgia and taking a trip down memory lane and visit the grand inauguration of Disneyland. It was the fateful day of July 17, 1955, when hordes of eager visitors crossed the drawbridge of Sleeping Beauty’s castle into mythical mists of Disneyland, Anaheim.

About three years earlier, Anaheim was nothing but a wee sleepy locality surrounded by acres and acres of orange groves? Then came the stupendous Walt Disney and his glorious idea- to construct not an amusement park but a world in itself – a world that catered to the joy of human soul.

Disneyland in 1955: Walt Disney purchased about 160 acres of those forested groves in Anaheim and initiated in 1954 operations to build his Dream World. Although the original plans had called for 45-acre Park, the structure had cost 17 million by the time it opened and spanned 160 acres! The first day was, to no big surprise, a great festival in the history of California. The opening ceremonies were broadcast live on ABC with celebrities and VIPs present – thus opened Disneyland in 1955.

In 1955, when the park opened, it was designed as being constituted by 5 zones with each having its own flavour and tinge. They were – Main Street, Adventureland, Frontierland, Fantasyland, and Tomorrowland. Even though many fun rides were not operational and not completed, the place still drew crowds in hordes. For example, Adventureland had only one ride: the Jungle Cruise yet people flocked to see it. Zones likes Tomorrowland contained more exhibits than rides yet became immensely popular.

Disneyland then did not have all the rides we have today. Still, it had its own taste as there were rides and exhibits that are not present now in Disneyland – Some of them 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea exhibit, Aluminum Hall of Fame and Space Station X-1 in Tomorrowland, and Frontierland’s coach rides. The durability and classicity of the rides of Fantasyland are vouched by the fact that some of them are still operational and hugely popular today – Like Dumbo, and the mesmerizing Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride. It was, however, missing the Autopia, and it’s a Small World which were added in 1956 and 1966 respectively. The rest, as they say, is history…
