If you feel the urge to explore, why not splurge? And why not spend it all exploring the New England Coast? A full wallet will get you to a whole lot of places and plenty of things to see, hear, feel, taste and experience. Here are some of the pricey vacations you might want to take in the New England Coast:

White water rafting

For the very adventurous and those seeking thrill rides, try shooting the rapids on Dead or Kennebec rivers and exchanging less-than-deadly paintball firepower in the forests of Maine. Packages are usually offered as day-long trips and it costs only from around $115 to $160 per person, a sumptuous lunch included.

Nantucket luxury beach hotel

So there’s a huge crowd vying for the same spot on the beach as you? Stay away from the madding crowd and head off for a pricey vacation at the Cliffside Beach Club. Your accommodation will allow you to open your front door and walk directly on the beach, unhampered by the other sunburned bodies.

All modern luxuries are included in the package including Wi-Fi access for those who can’t not get connected and flatscreen TV, in case you need to know what’s going on in the world outside. Pools are heated and their hydrotherapy hot tubs are huge enough to fit a family of five, with plenty of room to move. Accommodations cost from a low of $450 a night and around $3,150 a week.

Butler beach

Newport, Rhode Island is famous for its scenic beaches. If you want a pricey (and lazy) beach vacation that offers plenty of privacy and laid-back pleasure, try the Chanler, located at Cliff Walk. If you’re with your significant other, hire a beach butler for only $85 and let him chauffeur you to the beach of your choice. Sit back and take in the view – your butler will take care of everything for you. At its low end, this will cost you around $600 a night. High-end accommodations are charged at around $1,300 a night.

Get deserted

So you’ve always dreamed of being cast away on a desert island. Although the desert island part requirement isn’t met, you’ll find that a stay at Chanterelle Island will more than make up for it. At just 12 acres, the island is perfect for a private getaway (no, you don’t rent just a cottage, you rent the whole island), quite fitting if you simply want to get ‘lost’.

The amenities are far from shabby, however because you can go kayaking, boating or even play a game of badminton and croquet. There are no televisions, though and forget about Wi-Fi connections. You’re here to get lost, right? This is one pricey vacation you’ll want to take if you can spare $5,000 a week.

How about a cruise?

If travel by sea is a preference and you would like to include a few places in Canada for your itinerary, try a cruise vacation to explore the New England Coast. There are several cruise lines that offer ultra-luxurious cruises that tread the water from Maine to Halifax or Quebec. The journey is as dramatic as the destination, you’re relaxed and pampered as you take in the sites, the history and the culture.

Cruises that include the New England Coast generally have five ports, lasts from 11 to 14 days, depending on the cruise and the ship. Land tours are guided and you can opt to dine on board the ship or in your current port of call.

If you’re looking to visit the New England Coast, how much you will enjoy your vacation will really depend on what you know about this region and what you expect. Are you going as a sightseer raring to take in the famous New England views? Are you there as a summer tourist, eager to taste the fleeting New England summer? Or are you going as a visitor who would like to know more about the areas where a good part of American history began? Here’s a holiday travel guide you might find useful for New England Coast destinations:

Getting to know the sea

It would be really difficult to imagine the New England Coast without the sea. After all, it is the sea that defines and shapes this region. Many of the areas here were, at one time or another, involved in the seafaring trade. Drop by Mystic in Connecticut, where you’ll find the Seaport Museum of America and the Sea. Everything you want to know about the sea, you’ll probably find in these places.

Newport

Newport is a city and an island onto itself. If you want a taste of 19th century architecture, this is the place to be. Some of the most famous mansions in the U.S. can be found here, built by some of the nation’s richest families.

Massachusetts

The coast of Massachusetts, particularly the north shore, is a famous stomping ground for many summer tourists. This part of the New England Coast is where you’ll find Cape Cod, looking like a flexed muscle on the map.

No visit to the New England Coast will ever be complete without going to Cape Cod, one of the most popular locations for summer vacations for both high-profile and low-profile personalities. Go ahead and comb the beach for shells and starfish and see a movie at the local drive-in theater. If you can, try to rent out a boat so you can cruise around the Gloucester Harbor and check out local lighthouses and other landmarks.

New Hampshire

New Hampshire, in spite of its popularity as a ski town, is still a favorite during summer, spring and especially fall, when the leaves start to show fiery colors. Check them out up close by railway along the side of Mt. Washington. The view at 6,000 feet is spectacular.

On more level ground, though, you could explore the towns at New Hampshire for its ice sculptures in Hanover’s Dartmouth College or check out the Hopkins Center for the Arts and the Museum of Art. New Hampshire is also an excellent place to enjoy the local cuisine. For a few souvenirs, there’s Portsmouth with its numerous antique shops selling everything from knick-knacks to furniture.

Maine

You could opt to visit Vermont before you head off to Maine but if you prefer the coast, then go directly to this famous region and its rough and rugged coastline. Maine is the place to be if you’re traveling along the New England Coast and want a long stopover. It offers everything from fishing and boating to lobster trapping and seal watching. And of course, the beach is gorgeous and well-maintained. Check out Red Jacket and Old Orchard beaches, among others.

Maine also has some of the most famous lighthouses in the New England Coast that you should never miss. If you prefer to take a tour on four wheels, head for the central area and enjoy a rugged yet scenic drive to major lakes and attractions. Visit any of Maine’s numerous parks and if you’re a horror novel fan, you might want to head straight for Acadia National Park. You’ll pass by Bangor, where author Stephen King lives.

School break is coming up and you and your friends are eager to travel to New England. If you’re a little worried how long and far your remaining allowance could take you, here are a couple of tips to make your vacation last as long as possible without getting anyone in debt.

New England Attractions You Can Enjoy for Free

You only need your camera – and not your wallet – when you drop by these places.

Yale University

You may have no plans of switching colleges or universities, but that shouldn’t stop you from enjoying the various beautiful attractions offered in this famous Connecticut institution. Music lovers can look forward to a spectacular performance from the Yale School of Music; most of its almost 300 concerts don’t charge admissions. Art lovers, on the other hand, can view the various artworks and exhibits at the Yale Center for British Art and Yale Art Gallery. Lastly, a guided tour – also for free – of the various historical landmarks in the school campus is always on the offing.

Yankee Candle, Massachusetts

It may be near impossible to resist purchasing a candle or two once you get to the flagship store of the popular candle maker, but that’s probably the only price you have to pay when you get to this South Deerfield factory.

Exploring the labyrinth-like arrangement of showrooms in the Yankee Candle can take up a delightful amount of hours, but every single room will prove to be worth your time.

Cliff Walk, Rhode Island

Newport has long been famous for its breathtaking views of the ocean and its queue of legendary mansions. If you’re looking for something free but fun to do, you can do a lot worse than enjoying these sights while trekking the 3.5 mile length of Cliff Walk.

Affordable New England Accommodations

Now, if it’s a cheap place for you and your friends to sleep in that worries you, here are several affordable but quite satisfactory bed and breakfasts to solve your dilemma.

1886 House, Massachusetts

You’re going to share a bathroom, true, but this is easily offset by an air-conditioned room – at least the one in the 2nd floor – good for two and with an antique iron bed for the low price of $95. As things stand, there’s not that much reason to complain, is there?

Abbey’s Lantern Hill Inn, Connecticut

Go on weekends with your friends and you pay $99 for a full-bed room with its own bath. But if you go on weekdays, you get the room for just $79. The proximity of various Mystic area attractions and Foxwoods Casino is an added bonus.

Old Riverton Inn, Connecticut

Whisk you and your friends to the past at Old Riverton Inn. It used to be a stagecoach stop for those traveling to and fro Albany and Hartford and for $99, you get a double-bed room and full breakfast.

Silver Maple Lodge and Cottages, Vermont

Acquaint yourself with the charming rustic country life, Vermont style, when you’re in Silver Maple Lodge. For rates below $100, you could get a fireplace-heated cottage room or a room in the farmhouse with your own bath.

The Knoll, Massachusetts

This small Northampton B&B doesn’t just come cheap with $85 rooms, but it’s also conveniently in proximity to shops, colleges, and other notable establishments in the area.

Love may always be in the air in New England, but it doesn’t have to be constantly about couples. A New England vacation can also be a wonderful time for families to get together, bond more, and just have fun. If you’re taking the kids to New England coasts, here are several places that are sure to offer your family endless entertainment.

Ocean Edge Resort, Cape Cod

This is a must-visit not just because it’s one of the largest resorts in the region and has its own 700-foot beach. There are other great things to look forward to like beach bonfires and other group activities for rollickin’ family fun.

Wildflower Inn, Lyndonville

This Vermont inn is a paradise for the kids, from its innovative but child-friendly décor and family-oriented amenities. Its playroom overflows with books and toys and where kids can eat sumptuous teddy bear pancakes while parents can enjoy the breathtaking mountain views of the region.

Eagle Mountain House, Jackson

This New Hampshire grand hotel may sound old-fashioned and stuffy to your children’s ears but rest assured that all it would take is one look for them to change their minds. In Eagle Mountain House, adult entertainment and activities for kids are offered side by side. Not one member of the family will ever get bored in this place!

Point Sebago Family Resort, Casco

This famous Maine resort, at 775 acres, is huge enough not just to entertain your family but your entire clan’s reunion if you so wish. Younger guests can troop to summer camp to enjoy their vacation with their peers while the not-so-younger ones can have fun with the resort’s night club, tennis courts, marina, and 18-hole golf course. If that’s not enough, there are also lip synching and bonfires, hayrides, rainy day Bingo games, sailing lessons, and table tennis tournaments.

Six Flags Theme Park, Agawam

If it’s an amusement park you’re looking for then drive through Agawam in Massachussets to visit Six Flags Theme Park, the largest one in the region. Its wide variety of rides and trills will not leave visitors wanting or choice. Even better, 2007 saw the opening of Wiggles World, a highly enjoyable attraction designed for preschoolers.

Main Lobster Boat Adventure, Rockland

If you’re in Maine and you’ve got rowdy kids with you, the Captain Jack Lobster Boat Adventure will give you the perfect excuse to let them loose without having to worry about their safety. Parents and children are entertained as they’re introduced to what the daily life of a lobsterman is composed of alongside brief informative lessons about the region’s most famous crustacean.

Llama Hiking in Central Massachusetts

If watching lobsters isn’t your kids’ cup of tea then maybe walking with llamas is? If so, that’s exactly what a New England farm has to offer. And don’t worry, your kids will be safe. Llamas are gentle creatures and all walks will be supervised by professionals.

Tomb Boston, Fenway

If you want to end your New England family vacation at a high note, drive to Boston and look for 5W!TS’s newest and first ever interactive attraction, the Tomb Boston. Even older kids will be delighted as they visit a traveling museum exhibit, check out a reality TV show, explore a Hollywood movie set, and go through a haunted house. Beware of levitating mummies!

With school break coming up, you can treat your family to a day or two with a short but fun-filled New England vacation. Here are a couple of ideas to get you started.

Tyler Place, Vermont

This family-friendly establishment has practically perfected the art of pleasing its guests, having been in the business for 70 years. Besides a variety of diverse activities that take advantage of the proximity of Lake Champlain, Tyler Place also has other programs lined up in its itinerary for guests of all ages.

Best of all, Tyler Place gives you the option for all-inclusive pricing as well as their Family Retreat package, one that gives families an educational but entertaining vacation.

Acadia National Park, Maine

The park offers an impressive array of camp programs, ranging from traditional summer camp for children to family camps and adventures for larger clan reunions. Other activities you can enjoy while touring the park includes hiking, kayaking, fishing, horseback riding, scenic driving, and swimming. There are also tours using trolleys and those headed by rangers while guests enjoy star gazing and bird walks. Cruises and ferry services are also available for those interested in whale watching or sailing.

Smugglers’ Notch, Vermont

However young or old your children may be, they’re sure to find something fun and exciting to do in Smugglers’ Notch. Teenagers could try out junior tennis, mountain boarding, video camp, and other optional programs prepared by the award-winning resort. And with the Summer Fest package, you not only get pre-arranged accommodations but an action-packed vacation trying out hot-tubing, pool-hopping, waterslides, and the Giant Rapid River Riding. But the pleasures don’t stop there because another round of entertainment is prepared for guests come nightfall.

Other programs for younger kids and even infants are also available.

“Roughing” It Out by the Shores

For families desiring their own privacy, renting out a condo unit, cabin, or the traditional New England cottage in any of the six coastline states would be the perfect way to spend their vacation. Make sure, however, you ask for the best view of the beach or lake as well as a fully-equipped kitchen and all other amenities you’d want in your temporary home.

The Cape, Massachusetts

Some people say it’s impossible to now the essence of New England without a visit to Cape Cod. Once there, you can take the Cape Cod Railroad for a scenic view of the place, enjoy its famous fall foliage in the Cape’s myriad of forests, marshlands, and sand dunes, exercise and enjoy sightseeing with your rented bike, and explore colonial-style towns. And of course, don’t forget to take a swim in one of the Cape’s many wonderful beaches!

Six Flags New England and Lake Compounce

Last but not the least, don’t forget to check out two of New England’s most famous theme parks.

In Six Flags New England, kids below 36″ will be admitted for free. The variety of rides and thrills will ensure that both parents and kids will have fun. And if you’re allergic to long queues, you can rent for the park’s innovative pager-like gadgets to reserve your slots for the theme park’s best rides.

And in Lake Compounce, which also happens to be the oldest theme park in the country, you can check out the biggest water park in Connecticut, enjoy a “live” encounter with the world’s laziest feline Garfield, and get your adrenaline pumping with drop towers and flume rides.

Taken as a whole, the New England Coast presents a variety of opportunities for fun, play, entertainment and learning. Although the region is best known as a vacation haven for many, it is best explored by targeting its topmost offerings. After all, even the locals will find it difficult to see everything. Here are the top 6 New England Coast destinations you might want to visit:

Cape Cod

Cape Cod, Massachusetts has everything you want – you only need to know where to get it. Whether you’re a sports-loving tourist or an outdoors enthusiast, you’ll find plenty to fall in love with at Cape Cod. The towns have remained preserved over the years, making you feel as if you fell off a time machine and stepped right smack in an era that existed only a few hundred years ago.

Its national parks and landmarks have also remained pristine and well-managed. And let’s not forget that this is summer town, so go and head for the water. This New England Coast destination has some of the best in the region.

Newport

Rhode Island is a small piece of land area but what it lacks for in size, it more than makes up for in history. Visitors flock to this island, particularly in Newport, to rest and play. Many of them have even made their stay permanent.

Newport is rich in nautical history. It is also the home to some very important sports spectacles, including the America’s Cup. For music aficionados, Newport also is the place to flock to for the annual Jazz Festival. Once you come to Newport, you’ll be able to distinguish its culture from others in the region and it’s not something you’ll sooner forget.

Acadia National Park

This is arguably the most famous national park in Maine. And it better be – at 40,000 acres of forested land hiding lakes, valleys and mountains, Acadia National Park is obviously a national treasure. From here, you have a choice of mountain views from Cadillac Mountain to Gorham Mountain, offering unbeatable views of the Atlantic Ocean, Blue Hill and Penobscot bays. This area is also home to Thunder Hole, famous for the loud, ear-shattering report its waves make against the solid rock.

Although already a top tourist destination in the New England Coast, you’ll be pleased to know that Acadia National Park has managed to maintain its quiet elegance and dignity. Go ahead and explore what it can offer – from its old markets to its restaurants to its antique shops.

White Mountain Forest

White Mountain National Forest is found in New Hampshire. It boasts of some of the most spectacular sceneries in the region, with crystal-clear lakes and dramatic mountain peaks. Those who prefer to spend their New England vacation breathing pure mountain air prefer this location, particularly suited for annual family trips.

Boston

Whether you’re here for shopping or for a lesson in history, Boston has plenty to offer. It has some of the best bakeshops and restaurants in the New England Coast area, thanks to the Italian invasion. A taste of Europe is just a stroll away here and there are plenty of parks, museums and gardens to fill your day time exploration hours. And let’s not forget this is the home of the Red Sox, the conqueror of the mighty Yankees. Good luck getting a seat at Fenway Park, though because the seats are often filled to capacity.

Old Orchard Beach

Old Orchard Beach in Maine has amazingly preserved its quaint charm. If you’ve always looked forward to summer as a child, then you will feel as if you stepped back in time once more as soon as your feet hit the sandy beaches of Old Orchard. The beach itself is home to fairs, amusement rides (the carousel remains a big hit), cotton candy and of course, the boardwalk. It’s good old-fashioned fun that remains big in the hearts of many who have been there.

The New England Coast is a natural choice as a summer destination. Whether you only have a weekend or a whole month’s time to spend, there are many areas in the New England Coast where you can hole up to pass away the summer heat. New England is also picture-perfect in summer – exquisite to the point of being sharp – and you’ll find yourself lolling away the warm days and spending cool, lazy evenings sipping cocktails. Here are some of the best destinations you might want to check out:

Cape Cod

There are summer vacations and there are Cape Cod summer vacations. Cape Cod, located in southeastern Massachusetts is probably your quintessential summer town. Turn east and you’ll face the Atlantic Ocean; turn north and there’s Cape Cod Bay, turn southwest and there’s Buzzards Bay, turn south and there’s Nantucket Sound.

The sands of Cape Cod give way to hills and forests so should swimming and lying on the beach ever gets tiring to you, there are plenty of other things you can explore. Go fishing, find restaurants that serve fresh seafood or check out the year’s harvest of cranberries. Can’t get enough of the beach? Go and see some of its famous lighthouses, such as Cape Cod Light and Chatham Light.

Should any of the beaches become saturated for you, try one of its private beach resorts. Red Jacket, for example, offers 700 feet of sandy beach and enough privacy for the discerning guest.

Martha’s Vineyard

If you’ve always dreamed of spending a summer vacation in an island, Martha’s Vineyard is THE place to be. Other than the incredibly beautiful beaches, it also boasts of spectacular sceneries. Many celebrities call this island home and occasionally vacation here, so if you want to bump into someone famous, there are plenty of places you can rent out for a few weeks’ stay. After a day’s fun at the beach, try to explore the island. There are a few reminders here of colonial life that you will find interesting.

The Singing Beach

Found in Manchester-by-the-Sea, Massachusetts, the Singing Beach is so named because of the sound the sand makes underneath the feet. Dry sand ’sings’ best, provided you stomp and shuffle. The beach is open to the public Mondays until Thursdays. From Friday till Sunday, the locals take over.

Newport

This is another excellent destination for a summer vacation on the New England Coast. There’s a misconception about this town, considering that many of its more famous residents and visitors are from the rich and richer. However, Newport isn’t such a snob. There’s plenty of summer vacation fun here for the average visitor.

Newport’s beaches are a popular destination for summer tourists so be ready to meet the crowds. Take a stroll down the Cliff Walk, a 3

Traveling to New England doesn’t have to be expensive. If you’ve got a tight budget, here are a few tips to keep your spending to a minimum while enjoying the best that New England has to offer.

Cheap Accommodations

Lodgings are often a traveler’s biggest financial hurdle, but the following Bed & Breakfasts are sure to fit right in your budget.

The Chapman Inn Bed and Breakfast, Maine

If you visit New England off season, you could grab a room here for as low as $59. But even if you do happen to travel at the height of the season, accommodations are still not as expensive at $99 per night and may even include full gourmet breakfast. In-room Internet is only available.

The Inn at Buck Hollow Farm, Vermont

Choose among The Yellow, Foliage, and Blue rooms and pay just $93 for any of the rooms. They’re good for two and keep you in comfort with four-poster beds and country breakfasts. The inn also comes with a fireplace-heated sunroom, an antique shop, an outdoor Jacuzzi, and a heated pool. If you’re on a solitary journey, you can save $10 on accommodations.

Maplecroft Bed & Breakfast, Vermont

Do you have a couple of impressive sleight-of-hand tricks up your sleeve? Any quilting or librarian skills? Because if you do, this late 1800’s Victorian B&B’s willing to give you a 10% discount, making its $88 room even cheaper!

Free Attractions and Activities in New England

Now that you’ve got the problem of accommodations out of the way, here are several suggestions as to where you can enjoy your New England vacation without spending a dime.

Anheuser-Busch Brewery and the Clydesdale Hamlet, New Hampshire

Beer enthusiasts will no doubt be keen to drop by the Anheuser-Busch Brewery as it’s in this place where they can finally meet the Budweiser Clydesdales, arguably the most famous equines in the beverage industry.

Brewery tours – free! – are offered and those of legal age can also enjoy free beer samples while they’re at it. Non-drinkers, meanwhile, can explore the brewery’s lovely stables.

Freedom Trail, Boston

Enjoy the best sights of Boston – the 2

Don’t think of New England only in August. There’s plenty to see and do in spring and fall and, if you’re feeling a bit adventurous, maybe even in early winter. If any of the local areas in the New England coast is part of your vacation destination, here are a few tips on where you should go and what you should do:

Maine

Maine in the northern part of New England is famous for its rugged yet beautiful coast and its natural harbors. Small wonder it has become a favorite among artists who have captured its beauty in novels, stories and paintings. The Pine Tree State is indeed blessed, not just by a coastline that extends for 228 miles but also by its scenic mountains, rivers and lakes. It is still a favorite tourist destination, not just for its famous lobsters but also because of its numerous museums and national parks.

Maine also plays host to many sports competitions each year. You could come in summer, to watch horse races, regattas and golf tournaments, or in winter for the ski races.

New Hampshire

New Hampshire is arguably the best New England coast destination to go to during the fall, when the leaves go out in an explosion of colors. One of the 13 original U.S. colonies, New Hampshire has retained its own unique charm, thanks to its many spectacular lakes, brooks and streams and its largely unspoiled forests. These, along with its beautiful resort areas, make New Hampshire a favorite among tourists since the 1800s. Camping, hiking, sightseeing and other recreational activities are being offered by the locals here.

If you want to get away in winter in a New England coast destination, then New Hampshire should be your choice. Check out their winter carnivals which start in January. Dartmouth College’s carnivals are quite famous for their ice sculptures. But don’t stay away in spring and summer – New Hampshire is home to a good number of festivals, including the Stark Fiddlers’ Contest, the Bluegrass festival in Pemi Valley and the All-State Music Festival.

Massachusetts North Shore

The Massachusetts North Shore is just 60 minutes’ drive from Boston. If you’re ever in the area, consider dropping by in this coastal town. This place has so much to offer, provided you’re willing to get adventurous. For better deals on accommodations, try renting a beach house with several friends.

Although there are plenty of places you can try, you might want to consider Plum Island. From there, you can explore areas such as Gloucester, Essex, Rockport, Salisbury, Ipswich, Salem and Marblehead. Don’t forget to try their watermelon beer and, believe it or not, the best popcorn you’ll ever pop.

Rhode Island

Not everything small can be overlooked and Rhode Island is testament to that. Little Rhody, the Ocean state, boasts of over 20 state parks and beaches. Which one to go to? Check out Beach Pond State Park in the western area. It offers opportunities for camping, boating and swimming. Dawley and Diamond Hill State Parks are excellent choices for outdoors activities such as hiking, riding and picnics.

If you want a taste of American history, try the numerous landmarks and buildings such as the white marble State House and the oldest Baptist church in the U.S., both of which are found in Providence. If you like gardens, go and visit the topiary gardens of Thomas Brayton. If you prefer the sea, check out the lighthouse at Block Island, still the brightest and farthest-reaching beacon on the East Coast.

At any time of the year, couples can look forward to a romantic getaway in New England. Besides its famous coastline, the historical and picturesque region also boasts of a beautiful natural landscape that’s sure to give visitors unforgettable memories. If you’re thinking of traveling to New England with your loved one, here are a couple of places you might want to check out.

Acadia, Maine

Walking hand in hand with your special someone would be even more special if you do so in the Acadia National Park, the 1st and only national park in New England. The breathtaking lakeshores, coastlines and surrounding mountains – which are accessible by the way – also make a perfect backdrop for your photographs.

In Acadia, you can watch the sunrise on Cadillac Mountain, hike for a bird’s eye view of a ford, and walk or drive along shores of lakes and ponds. While there, you should also drop by at the charming villages of Stonington and Castine as well as Bay Harbor.

Berkshires, Massachusetts

Scattered across the region is a wide range of inns and resorts, all lovely and exclusive and sure to fit whatever your budget is. Even better, some of them actually offers the opportunity to lodge in a historic stagecoach inn. Days in Berkshires are best spent exploring the lakes and mountains in the area while nights should be reserved for the variety of cultural diversions offered.

Cape Cod

No romantic getaway to New England is complete without a visit to Cape Cod. There, you and your partner can enjoy a quiet and very much secluded walk along white sand beaches. Nature walks through swamps, marshes, and kettle ponds and bike paths as well as various historical sites are available to those wishing for a more vigorous and diverse trip. A visit to the islands of Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard, both of which have been featured in movies and magazine shoots for countless times because of its timeless beauty.

White Mountains of New Hampshire

This area has arguably one of the most dramatic and vivid natural landscapes in New England. Couples will undoubtedly feel surreal amidst the gloriously immense woods in the White Mountain National Forest. If you appreciate the charms of a simple life, you should try staying in any of the numerous inns and lodgings located in the mountain villages. While there, do consider visiting Mount Washington as well as the Presidential Range.

The Wentworth in Jackson, New Hampshire

There’s an enormous difference between infatuation and love. If the feelings you have for each other are deep and mature, you should take the time in choosing a romantic getaway that perfectly mirrors your feelings. In that case, there’s no better choice than The Wentworth in New Hampshire.

Considered a “baby grand” hotel, The Wentworth offers more than twenty rooms furnished with romantic sleigh or four-poster beds, cozy sitting areas equipped with modern entertainment system, Oriental rugs, and hardwood floors, and warmed by switch-controlled gas fireplaces. Your room may also come with either an in-room whirlpool tub or a private balcony with a hot tub good for sharing.

If you choose to leave the enchanting confines of your room or cottage, you and your partner will not suffer from any inadequacies in your pursuit for entertainment: you can shop around the North Conway, drive a scenic route along Kancamagus Highway, play a relaxing game of gold in the Wentworth’s 18-hole and PGA-rated golf course, or enjoy a leisurely swim in its outdoor heated pool. For sports-loving couples, the area also offers ice skating, mountain biking, whitewater rafting, canoeing, fishing, hiking, cross-country skiing, and clay tennis courts.
