Disneyland Resort Travel Guide

Let us look at some basics before we move to a closer travel-analysis of Disneyland as in a Disneyland Resort Travel Guide. Situated in Anaheim, California, the Disney Resort is quintessentially made up of three intermingling yet distinct parts that must all be visited, not necessarily in that order: the Disneyland Park constitutes the first part, Disney’s California Adventure the second, and the third is comprised of Downtown Disney. The Main Central cynosure is however Disneyland Park that contains a plethora of rides and fantasy attractions for people of different ages. Disney’s California Adventure is another theme park, and it was constructed a minute condensation of the entire state of California. As for Downtown Disney, it is a shopping and restaurant district.

Moving on to Disneyland now, it is composed of Various ‘Lands’. Let us look at some of them. Disneyland’s primary themed lands are Main Street, U.S.A. (based on Marceline), Mickey’s Toontown (constructed after the cartoon town of Toontown in Who Framed Roger Rabbit?), Fantasyland (which depicts a Bavarian village), New Orleans Square (designed after 18th Century New Orleans), Critter Country (modeled on North American forests), Tomorrowland (made after the future of mankind), Frontierland (the old wild west), and Adventureland (the spirit of the jungles of Asia, Africa and the South Pacific comes alive in it),.

As for Disney’s California Adventure, it too is subdivided in 5 themed lands - Hollywood Pictures Backlot (Hollywood’s studio comin’ alive), Paradise Pier (based on California’s 20th Century boardwalks), Sunshine Plaza, A bug’s land (Made after the movie “a bug’s life”) and Golden State (which is divided into 5 districts- Golden Vine Winery is done on California’s Wine Country, Grizzly Peak Recreation Area is made after the Northeastern California wilderness, Condor Flats that is done after the flying days of Mojave Desert, The Bay Area is made after 20th Century San Francisco and Pacific Wharf is constructed on the pattern of California’s wharfs).

We also need to look at the differences between Disneyland and California Adventure in this Disneyland Resort Travel Guide. The primary difference between Disneyland and California Adventure is that whilst Disneyland’s rides are usually classic and themed noir rides (e.g. Pirates of the Caribbean) with the occasional thrill ride thrown in (e.g. Space Mountain), California Adventure’s rides are more thrill-oriented (e.g. California Screamin’) with some family-style rides (e.g. Soarin’ Over California).

Disney Resorts is pretty crowded and it is best to make arrangement and bookings beforehand in order to avail discounts. Apart from the hotels within the resort like Disneyland Hotel, Disney’s Grand Californian, one can book for any hotel nearby. Eat outside is possible as inside it may be too costly or crowded. Please also consult local customs and statistics to zero in on a day where customer traffic may be the least. Enjoy!
