Disney land was the dream of a man who translated it into reality, for millions of people to see. Today Disney land is the very definition of an amusement parks the world over. Well for all those who have either visited this amazing world, it is an interesting insight to know how the history of Disney land. Disneyland was conceived and constructed by Walt Disney. While he was on a visit to the Griffith Park on a Sunday afternoon, with his daughters Diane and Sharon, Walt Disney first thought of this. A place of amusement to cater not just to children, but to adults as well.
Walt Disney’s dream has a long history. After the first time he thought of such an amusement park, it took many years and Disneyland was finally conceived. This was then started in 1954, with the cost of $17 million. It took a year to finish, and was thrown open to the public an exact year after its construction began.
On the 18th of July 1955, Disneyland was opened to the public. It soon became famous, with people vying to get a chance to visit the park. Would you believe that the history of Disneyland Park includes the famous request by the Russian premier Nikita Khrushchev, for a visit. Of course he was turned down, due to the cold war and the security concerns, but no need for you to worry. You shall not face such a deprivation.
The history of Disneyland has seen much change and improvement. The park has seen much change since 1990’s. The park was expanded, remodelled, and renovated from the nineties to the present day. The theme has always been in touch with the times whether past or present. The parks realms, boast of the main street U.S.A. On the one hand, where one can witness Victorian U.S.A.; as well as tomorrow land, a futuristic projection of times to come. It has been over 50 years since Disney land was first opened to the public. In 2005 and 2006 Disneyland celebrated its 50th anniversary. The festivities went on for 18 months.
The theme park is has many attractions from the five realms to the railroad, to the live shows, fireworks, rides, restaurants, and much more. In fact from 1950’s to 1968 it had a direct service from the Los Angeles international airport to Disneyland.
The history of Disneyland is a rich tapestry of one man’s dream weaved for millions of people young or old. The millions of visitors who have lived this dream are witness to the history of Disneyland. This has been the history of magic, excitement, and laughter.
