Halloween has been one of the most popular and loving holiday traditions ever- not only in the United States of America, but also in countries like England, Australia, New Zealand, etc. This ultimate celebration has been a source of great fun for children as well as their parents and the whole family.

The Objective Of The Celebration

As per holiday traditions, Halloween is a festival when children get dressed as ghosts and goblins. The objective is to frighten the bad souls that are roaming around the world. As per legend, the first Halloween was celebrated on All Hallows Eve with an objective to frighten the bad souls wandering on that particular day. Since then, every year people celebrate this occasion. However, the true meaning of Halloween is almost lost now.

The Halloween holiday traditions are now more about getting dressed in fancy dresses, eating lots of candies and having unlimited fun. However, you can still find a piece or two of the old tradition with the modern day celebration of Halloween. For example, costume wearing and pumpkin carving are still people’s favorite for this occasion. However, costumes now no longer need to be scary, as their objective is not to spread fear, but to have fun by wearing fancy dresses. Parents also do not want their kids to wear scary clothes anymore, as this might have negative effects on their tender minds. This is the main reason behind this change in the way of Halloween celebration.

On The Global Front

Halloween holiday traditions are not popular on a global front. Even England that is supposed to be the origin of this celebration does not celebrate it anymore in the same old fashion. Countries like England and Australia celebrate this occasion as a masquerade or fancy dress party where you get together with your families and friends.

Trick Or Treating

Trick or treating has been one of the most important aspects of Halloween holiday traditions. However, in America, parents are now more concerned about their children’s safety and that is the reason most of them keep their kids away from such things. However, trick or treating is widely popular among North Americans and they do associate the same with their Halloween celebrations.

Overall, the modern day Halloween celebrations are much different than the earlier versions as described in holiday traditions. The emphasis of this celebration has now shifted from eeriness to eating candies and having fun while dressing up kids in fancy costumes.
