Have you been searching for a place to go on a family vacation that everyone in the family will love? Orlando is one of the best places in the world for family vacations because there is so much to do and see in Orlando. If you are interested in spending a week or more at one of the major theme parks in Orlando often you can get special family packages and family deals on accommodations, meals and transportation if you book directly through the theme parks.

Kids love going to Disney World and Disney World is one of the biggest family vacation destinations in the world. When you book a Disney World or Universal theme park vacation you should always shop online because you can usually save a lot of money on packages to those attractions if you shop online. You might want to plan a family vacation to Orlando just to take the kids to Disney World or to Universal and go on all the rides and see the shows but if you don’t want to go that route or if you need to watch the expenses and a trip to those big name theme parks is just too expensive there are still plenty of other family activities that you can enjoy in Orlando.

You can spend your vacation camping in Blue Spring State Park and go fishing, boating, kayaking, hiking and other outdoor sports. You can also see the famous Florida manatees up close and personal because Blue Spring State Park is their winter home. You can go to Sea World and spend a few days watching the animals, seeing the animal shows learning about the natural world. If you do take the kids to Sea World don’t forget to stop in Discovery Cove. In Discovery Cove the kids can snorkel, swim with marine life, and have a great time learning first hand about the aquatic world. Sea World and Discovery Cove are a great value too.

If you really want to watch your money you can spend one day at a major theme attraction like Disney World or Sea World and spend the rest of your vacation exploring all the other things that Orlando has to offer. You can go swimming or boating, play golf or tennis, ride horses, go fishing, or take a glass bottom boat ride through Biscayne Bay and see all the marine life that lives in the coral reef. Kids as young as five can snorkel in Biscayne Bay and swim with giant sea turtles and since Biscayne Bay is a national park the admission cost is much less than some of the larger theme parks in Orlando. An afternoon spent at Gator World in Orlando is sure to impress the kids although the younger ones might be a little scared of the crocodiles and alligators that they will see. Gator World also has a petting zoo and other fun things for smaller children to do if they don’t want to take a boat tour to go out into the Everglades and look for crocodiles and alligators.
