St Augustine is the oldest settled city in the nation that was established in1565, approximately few centuries prior to pilgrims landing at Plymouth Rock as well as 50 years after Spanish explorers have spotted this place on the shore. The hotel Alcazar displays the best treasures including Tiffany and various art glass works. The antique mall at the hotel is a remarkable indoor swimming pool and is a wonder. All these were construction of Flagler was remarkable and this resulted in building glorious churches, towers, arches, Byzantine spires and Mediterranean bell towers. The other attractions balance the historic times with the contemporary in the form of opera, theater, Potter’s wax museum and art galleries. The festivals enhance the multi faceted aspects of St.Augustines present as well as past. The restaurants range from Spanish bakery to a modern microbrewery.
