You have lots of options when you want to choose where to stay when you’re in Orlando for a vacation. If you are planning on attending some of the larger attractions that Orlando has to offer like Disney or Universal then you will probably want to stay in a hotel that is close to those attractions so that you don’t have to worry about transportation to those attractions. But if you want something a little more budget friendly or if you want to stay somewhere that is off the beaten track and don’t really want to stay in a hotel then you should think about renting a vacation cottage or a vacation home in Orlando for your vacation.

There are lots of vacation rentals to choose from. You can look online and find hundreds of listings for vacation rentals in all different price ranges and locations. If you want a vacation rental that is right on the beach you might end up paying a little more than you want to pay but isn’t it worth paying a little more to be able to step outside onto those white sandy beaches? Plus, if you’re going to be on vacation for more than a week a vacation rental will really save you money in the longer run because you can cut costs on things like food if you can cook meals for yourself instead of having to eat out for every meal.

You can visit a local market and pick up groceries and you can have all your favorite meals for less than the cost of restaurant meals. Usually vacation rentals will have top of the line appliances and some will even have a grill so that you can cook outdoors and have a nice barbeque. You can have a lovely evening with your friends or family without having to leave the vacation rental. At night you can stay in and watch movies because most of the vacation rental homes come equipped with a large screen plasma or HD TV and a full library of DVDs and a DVD player so that you can watch movies if there isn’t anything you want to watch on TV. But you can find vacation rentals in other places than just the beach.

Are you going to be spending most of your time on one of the many local golf courses? Instead of staying in a hotel that is miles away from the golf course stay in a vacation rental cottage or apartment that is close the golf course so that you won’t have the stress and hassle of getting to the golf course each day. Because tourism is a major industry in Orlando you won’t have any trouble finding lots of different options when it comes to finding a place to stay in Orlando. You don’t have to stay in a hotel, you can find all sorts of interesting and unique vacation rentals to make your vacation even more fun and you can save money at the same time.

  1. Hi,
Good post but I don’t necessarily agree with: “…you will probably want to stay in a hotel that is close to those attractions so that you don’t have to worry about transportation to those attractions.”
There are 100s if not 1000s of vacation rentals equi-distant from the parks as many hotels and resorts.
I do agree with almost everything else you write. You can get a great place for equal or lesser money than a hotel, the food issue is big, and you obviously can get much more room.
Finding that rental is the hard part.

    Which is why I wrote:

I would be open to providing your site visitors with a “slimmed down” version of the guide.
